Admission Requirements for the 2020-21 Academic Session

The application deadline is June 1, 2020 for completed applications to be considered for funding for both September 2020 and January 2021 admission. (Our program is geared for a September 2020 start. We take very few applicants for the January session.)

The application fee for any student who applies between April 14 - June 1, 2020 and accepts a graduate position will be reimbursed once they join Queen's as a graduate student.

Our program is highly competitive with very limited space for international applicants. Your best strategy after completing an application is to contact a small number of faculty in your area of research.  Please quote your application number in your email to them. Students are admitted to a supervisor if deemed admissible by the admission committee.

Applications will not be considered complete without all university transcripts, graduation certificates (if applicable), two letters of academic reference, and a statement of interest. Documentation received after this date is considered to be late. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

GRE is not required.

Students may be exempt from the TOEFL if they have recently attended an Institution where English was the official language of instruction.
