The first High School Programming Contest hosted by the School of Computing was held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Queen's in Robert Sutherland Hall. The event was held under the auspices of the Educational Computing Organization of Ontario, which runs an annual series of programming contests. Seven teams of student programmers from a number of schools in both the Limestone District School Board and the Algonquin and Lakeshore District Catholic School Board participated. The teams were charged with solving four interesting problems in three hours. The winning team, and the only team to submit correct solutions to all four problems, was Frontenac Secondary School, Team 1, from Kingston. Congratulations to the team, to their coach, Mr. Lee, and to all participants in what proved to be a very successful and enjoyable contest. Several of the top teams will go on to compete at the Eastern Regional Programming Contest. Photos by Tom Bradshaw, Richard Linley, and Doug Wightman.
