Exams Graded, Marks Posted.

I have graded the exams and posted the marks on WebCT. I have adjusted some quiz scores as promised. The final mark you get may be raised if you are close to 50% 65% or 80%. Virtually everyone passed the course (98.3% of you passed!) The highest final grade was 96%. The average grade for the course was 74%.

Quiz question 8

Upon reflection, I think that question 8 was a bit unfair as many of you used the reasoning that the 1-norm is the max row sum and the infinity-norm is the max column sum. That applies for a matrix. In the case of a vector the 1-norm is the sum of absolute values of the vector elements and the infinity norm is the absolute largest value.

In any case if you lost marks on question 8. by inverting the correct values for the 1-norm and infinity-norm hand your quiz back to me or Henry Xiao and we will award you an additional point.

CISC-271 2005 Weblog

I will post short reflections after every lecture. In this way there is a concise record of the course. I will also use this weblog as a means of communicating important announcements. If I get any e-mail questions or commnents that are worth passing on to the entire class, I will do that as well.
