Abstract:Investigators, researchers, and archivists around the world are using computingtools and services to collect and preserve large quantities of human rightsdocumentary evidence, often without considering all the potential unintendedconsequences and harms. We will discuss some of the ethical issues that arise,and ways that some have found to approach this work responsibly.
Bio:Yvonne Ng is an audiovisual archivist and the Senior Program Manager ofArchives at WITNESS, a global non-profit organization that supports peopleusing video and technology to protect and defend human rights. She has an MA inMoving Image Archiving and Preservation from New York University.
