We are very happy to announce that Queen’s School of Computing Ph.D. Candidate Weiyi (Ian) Shang, and his co-authors Dr. Ahmed Hassan, Dr. ZhenMing (Jack) Jiang, Dr. Bram Adams, Dr. Hadi Hemmati and Dr. Pat Martin have just been announced as the winners of the top ACM paper award for Software Engineering.
Their paper, titled “Assisting Developers of Big Data Analytics Applications when Deploying on Hadoop Clouds”, was awarded the ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award, to be presented at the 35th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2013) later this month in San Francisco, California. It is worth noting that. ICSE 2013 has accepted 85 papers to be delivered at the conference, from among a record number of 461 submissions.
