At Queen’s University, student leadership plays a vital role in creating a stronger and more inclusive campus. This year, four students Emils Matiss, Bisola Olaseni, Oluwamisimi (Simi) Oluwole, and Daniel Reddy have been awarded the prestigious Agnes Benidickson Tricolour Award, one of the university’s highest honors that recognizes service, leadership, and lasting impact.
Oluwamisimi (Simi) Oluwole, a nursing student and co-founder of the Queen’s Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario, advocates for and builds community, particularly for Black students.
Daniel Reddy, a PhD candidate in chemistry, has expanded research and leadership opportunities by establishing the Queen’s International Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society.
The Tricolour Award celebrates student-driven impact and continues a legacy of excellence established by past recipients like Michele Romanow and David Dodge. The 2025 awardees exemplify leadership rooted in inclusion, innovation, and lasting community impact.
