Manuela Kunz and James Stewart Win in Heidelberg
Manuela and James (along with co-authors John Rudan (Surgery) and Vladimir Kratky (Ophtalmology)) won a best poster award at the 17th Annual Conference of the International Society of Computer Aided Surgery, held in Heidelberg, Germany, June 26 – 29, 2013, for their paper “Faster intraoperative localization of posterior orbital tumours using a patient-specific instrument guide“.

Congratulations to Gabor for his success in building a new industry partnership for the research and development of his biopsy guidance system. Although not a large project, it is the beginning of an industry prototype that will incorporate his open-source platform. We wish him all the best in this important collaboration.

Principal Woolf has been authorized by the Executive Committee of University Council to assemble an advisory committee to assist him in the search for a candidate to become Queen’s 14th chancellor. The committee’s membership consists of: Principal Daniel Woolf (Chair), Nick Francis (Rector), Barbara Palk (Chair of the Board of Trustees), Alison Holt (University Council Executive Committee member), David Bakhurst (faculty member), Irene LaFleche (staff member), Heather Black (University Council and Alumni Association member), and Bruce Mitchell (benefactor). Irène Bujara, Director, Equity Office and Human Rights Office, will serve as a non-voting advisor to the committee and University Secretary Lon Knox will serve as its secretary.
