Congratulations to Queen’s School of Computing Ph.D. candidate Sherin Abdel Hamid whose paper “On the Recruitment of Smart Vehicles for Urban Sensing”, co-authored with Professors Hossam Hassanein (Computing) and Glen Takahara (Mathematics and Statistics), received the Best Paper Award at the Ad hoc and Sensor Networks Symposium held in Atlanta, Georgia, December 9 – 13, 2013, as part of the 2013 IEEE GLOBECOM conference.
This award is particularly significant, since this year GLOBECOM, the major conference on global communications, awarded only one best paper award per symposium, combining all categories. The Ad hoc and Sensor Networks Symposium received in excess of 400 submissions from around the world.
There is a nice writeup in the Queen’s News Centre.
